Thank you for Sharing the Love!

We want to say thank you for helping us to Share the Love at our ladies’ night event on Friday, January 31. It was a great time of fun and fellowship, but it was also a great time of sharing the love!

First of all, Michelle and I were sick about a week before the event, so we weren’t able to do an announcement in our church services like we normally do. So, we put out a plea to our women’s committee, and we had some lovely ladies step up to help! A few of them took care of the announcement in both church services and another member helped pass out Hershey’s kisses between services to “share the love.”

Next, at our ladies’ night event, the ladies brought some amazing food! I have to say that our potlucks are the best! Everyone really outdid themselves and brought great things to share. There was definitely love in that food! Now, I’m not a cook, but I can definitely appreciate some good food!

Ladies also shared the love by giving of their time. There were many ladies who helped us set up for the event, and there were many ladies who helped clean up after the event. That is always such a blessing as many hands make light work! We always have ladies who are willing to pitch in and help do dishes or vacuum or put up chairs and tables. We so appreciate this sharing of love!

For our craft, we decorated little prayer journals. The ladies were able to decorate a prayer journal for themselves, but we purchased enough, so that all of the ladies could decorate extra prayer journals to donate to the SafePlace, for the ladies there. We thought it would be a blessing to be able to give prayer journals along with our monetary donations and donations of items to the SafePlace. We collected money for the donation at our December event and at the January event, along with online throughout the month of January. We are hoping to be able to get that total of monetary donations soon, so we can get a check to the SafePlace, and we’ll post it on Facebook when we have that total.

Finally, ladies were sharing the love by fellowshipping with one another. There was laughter and talking and praying and a few hugs! It was just a wonderful time to share ourselves with each other. That’s the best way to share the love–get to know one another and spend time together!

Romans 12:10 says, “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” That’s really what I saw at our event on January 31; ladies were putting others first, showing the love.

Our next women’s event will be our spring tea on Saturday, April 5 at 10 AM. We invite you to come and get involved. It’s a lot of fun, and you’ll find some ladies who really care about each other and put the needs of others first.
